IPRC Huye hosted the 3rd edition of the TVET Youth Challenge
On Friday, November 11, 2022, IPRC Huye hosted the 3rd edition of the TVET Youth Challenge. Young innovators from the College in different Academic Departments showcased their projects. The Ministry of Youth and Culture was presented by Ruzindana Rugasa Jean Baptiste, Advisor to the Minister of State. The Principal of IPRC Huye urged innovators to keep improving their innovations.
Among 7 projects presented, three were selected to compete on national level and were awarded 1,500,000 Frw, 1,200,000 Frw and 1,000,000 Frw respectively.
The 1st project is “Design and manufacturing of ecofriendly pave block made by plastic and sand” by CYUBAHIRO Patherne from Civil Engineering Department.
The 2nd Project is “Reusable pads and pamper for safety” by MUTAKO Vachiti from ICT Department.
The 3rd Project is “Multifunctional wooden Furniture by NSENGIMANA Anselme and MBANDA Melane from Civil Engineering Department.
On behalf of the Ministry of Youth and Culture, Ruzindana Rugasa Jean Baptiste, Advisor to the Minister of State, said that the Ministry is grateful to see that youth have works and be solutions to the society.
“Greetings from the Ministry of Youth and Culture, you are all included as youth. We are glad to see that you work and be solutions to the society that is why this completion takes place. The purpose is that you have to think on solutions to any problems that the society faces.”
The Principal of IPRC Huye Lt. Col. Dr. Barnabe Twabagira thanked all participants in this contest, especially winners, and called on every body to keep innovating.
“As HE the President of the Republic of Rwanda said, you have to seek on how to be on high table. Today, the World’s development is moving fast, hence I urge you to keep innovating.
All innovative projects that competed on IPRC Huye level are: Advanced car Alert by MUHIZI SHYAKA Patrick and MUHAMYANGABO Bonfils, Reusable pads and pamper for safety by MUTAKO Vachiti from ICT Department, Tap and press to attend by MUGISHA Aime Didie from Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department, Manufacturing pesticide from rabbit urine red pepper and onion by IRADUKUNDA Noel from Veterinary Technology, Production of porous ceramic water filter in Clay by HAKIZIMANA Elisa, Design and manufacturing of ecofriendly pave block made by plastic and sand” by CYUBAHIRO Patherne and Multifunctional wooden Furniture by NSENGIMANA Anselme and MBANDA Melane from Civil Engineering Department.
